Satisfying Indian dishes at eye-catchingly affordable prices is the name of the game at this smart spot in an outer Newcastle suburb. Flashes of colour bring a liveliness to the modern interior, where elements of Indian décor are subtly incorporated in place of a full-blown 'curry house' approach. Influences come from all over India, but the north does take precedence on the menu. The chef's signature curries are well worth an order, like the 'jhinga moilley', which combines succulent prawns with a velvety, deftly balanced coconut and ginger sauce.
